Living Courses: built around performance
Romain Gagnon · October 11, 2026 · Founder & CEO

Imagine Mia, a store adviser, sitting with a customer choosing between two supplements. “What’s the difference?” the customer asks. Mia has completed her training and wants to check the right topic before answering.
She steps aside, opens the learning experience on her phone, and asks her AI Tutor by voice: “Where did we cover this in training, and what’s the right approach?” Her AI Tutor points to the relevant training topic and gives a quick recap. She can ask for more detail if she needs it. Mia returns and recommends the blue-wave supplement, explaining what she found. If the guide does not cover the question, she can ask an expert.
That is learning meeting the work. Mia asks instead of hunting through old course files or repeating a lesson. She reconnects with what she learned and brings guidance back to the conversation.
This is our direction for Living Courses: training and support together, built around performance. Learn before a task. Ask when a question comes up. Practise when there is more to work through.
Get guidance in the moment
Support should fit the situation. Mia may read quietly beside the customer or step aside for a brief voice exchange. A short pause can help her check the source without making the customer sit through a lesson or quiz.
Upskillable’s AI Tutor provides in-context guidance, with live voice in enabled workspaces. We’re working on reviewed video moments tied to a subtopic, so a relevant clip can play within the Tutor conversation. We also plan to notify learners about course or topic updates worth returning to.

Learn and practise at your own pace
Mia can also return to learn at her own pace. On her laptop or phone, she can talk through a topic with her AI Tutor, ask questions, and explore the parts she wants to understand. A voice conversation lets her learn while walking, without keeping her eyes on a screen. When she wants to see an explanation, she can use the visuals on either device.
She can choose when to practise, too. Work through another customer question or revisit something she found difficult. Practice can fit her day instead of following a fixed schedule. We support practice in selected AI topics today and are building the broader experience.
For me, this is the opportunity: make learning useful throughout the work. Employees should not rebuild context each time they need an explanation.
A manager can start with one real task: the approved guide, the question employees ask, and the outcome to improve. Review answers, referrals, repeat work, and resolution time. Learning activity shows what people used; the work shows whether it helped.
Choose one question your team handles often, or one uncommon question where a mistake matters. What would help someone answer well, right when they need to?
The same Mia example is being developed for the companion film. View the companion video storyboard.
